Riverside County Freeway Closures and Police Standoff Halts Traffic
91 Freeway Closures Announced
The Riverside County Transportation Commission's 7191 Interchange Project will require nightly full closures on the westbound 91 from Monday through Wednesday starting January 2nd. Additionally, all lanes of the 91 Freeway will be closed overnight for bridge construction along Westbound Highway 91 at Artesia in Long Beach.
Police Standoff Clogs 91 Freeway
On Friday, morning commuters were gridlocked on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim as a police pursuit ended in a tense standoff. The incident resulted in the closure of all lanes of the 91 Freeway in both directions near Anaheim Hills.
The details of the pursuit and standoff are still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that the situation was resolved peacefully and no injuries were reported. The freeway has since been reopened, but commuters are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
